Our Services

Homemaker Companions are individuals who are trained in non-medical, basic care. They can provide assistance with many everyday activities. Whether it is light housekeeping or transportation to the doctor or grocery store, we are there to help. We help individuals maintain their independence and stay in the comfort of their own homes..

CNA/HHAs are licensed or certified in non-medical care. They can provide all the same services as Homemaker Companions as well as bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring and other hands-on personal care.

Personal Care – Our CNA/HHAs can assist with hands-on personal care such as showering, bathing, dressing, toileting and transferring. They are also trained to measure and record vital signs.

Light Housekeeping – Our caregivers can help with keeping the house neat and tidy. Vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, dishes, making beds, taking out the trash and cleaning the sinks and counters are just some of the valuable services provided.

Laundry – What makes a person more comfortable in their own home than sleeping in a fresh, clean bed? Our caregivers will strip the bed and wash the linens. All clients’ laundry will be washed, dried, folded or hung up and put away.

Shopping – Our caregivers will help prepare the grocery list, clip coupons and take you shopping to your favorite stores. We can help you shop and put the groceries away. Shopping does not just mean groceries. The caregivers can take you to the pharmacy, shopping for clothes or any other items you may need.

Doctor Appointments – Let our caregiver’s help you arrange schedules and assist with doctor appointments. We can help you maintain your calendar and get you to the doctor’s office or even to the lab for blood work or any other tests you may need.

Nutritious Meal Preparation – Our caregivers are trained in various dietary needs. They can help plan and prepare nutritious meals based on any special needs.

Companionship – Maybe you can do it all by yourself and would just like someone to keep you company for a while. Our caregivers can sit with you and chat, play cards or even take a trip to the movies or just a leisurely drive.

Medication Reminders – Although we are not permitted to dispense medication, our caregivers can make sure you or your loved one is taking prescribed medications at the proper times.

Maintain a Safe Environment – Everyone needs to feel safe and secure in their own home. Our caregivers can check the home for any safety hazards and correct the problems. Keeping walkways clear and free from loose rugs, stray electrical cords and other hazards is our main priority.

Advise of Health Changes – The caregivers at Family Friends are always on watch for any changes in the client’s physical or mental health. If any changes are noted, the proper person will be notified.

Family Relief – Caring for a family member can be very difficult and stressful. Our caregivers can stay with your loved ones and give you a break. You can use the time to tend to your own needs or even just get some rest.

Encourage Independence – Our caregivers are here to help. We do however; encourage clients to remain active and independent. Walking is great exercise and the health benefits are enormous. We encourage clients to take walks with their caregivers or visit with friends and neighbors.
